Fringe is back tonight! Oh man, have you ever stopped to think about the plot of Fringe?
“A guy stole a kid from an alternate universe because his own kid died, so then everything got fucked up, then years later they started going back and forth between the two universe and this one time, the evil version of the guy told the alternate version of this girl to swap places with her all secret agent style, so then alternate girl and alternate (real) guy had sex and made a baby - also there are some omnipotent alien types who uses typewriters and retro tech to communicate because THAT’S FUN - so then the two universes eventually collapse onto one another because they both build this elaborate machine that was foretold or some nonsense, and so now we are telling stories in a universe that is neither ours nor theirs, which are great stories don’t get me wrong, they are totally sad and all about how everyone tries to do the impossible to get what they really want out of life but it never works (to an extreme degree - kind fo like kidnapping your dead son from an alternate universe, am I right?), and it’s really only interesting from a story arc point of view if you’ve been watching this whole time so you can spot the tiny differences, jokes, and references to both episodes past and the alternate Other timeline… wait, why are walking away from me now?”
This is the only show where boyfriend can play “My Journalist girlfriend attempts to ask questions about a show she just watched”
