First week of 2012
Watched Midnight in Paris
Stayed up late for Iowa caucus and help run a pretty awesome live page. Mittens Romney won by eight votes (OR DID HE?)
In a series of incredibly tense but exciting moments, booked a great deal (i.e. what I was willing to spend on a contitential US vacation) to Istanbul. My Asia stop of contintents just got more legit.
Failed to sell car back to original dealership, meaning I am still on the hook for thousands of dollars in future lease payments (ARGHHHH)
Watched Downton Abbey for the first time (I KNOW. SO LATE)
Second week of 2012:
Attended weird wine/cheese party thrown by apartment management company. Cheese was gross, wine was cheap, warm white. But you know.
Won NH primary work sweepstakes. $30, in singles, and grateful thanks to the people of New Hampshire for not choosing Rick Santorum, for this and many other reasons.
Had the Alaska director of emergency management talk to me about weather patterns. It was both fascinating and totally not making it into the story.
Sort of went to the gym
Took Friday off work just because, which haven’t done in…. since I first had a full-time job.
Successfully pitched to work (oh fuck, now I have do reporting/writing for it)
